Honey production in the Eastern Black Sea region has increased compared to last year, but rainy and cool weather has limited output. Beekeepers reported an average yield of 10-15 kilograms of honey. Producers in the region achieved higher honey harvests in the 2026 season compared to the previous year.

Despite the increased harvest, persistent rain in May, June, and July delayed the nectar flow and hindered production from reaching expected levels. Yusuf Aksoy, President of the Trabzon Beekeepers Association, noted that while some areas produced less than the average, yields rarely exceeded 15 kilograms. Seasonal shifts in bee care and nectar flow were attributed to prolonged rainfall.
