UPA Sevilla has requested that Aznalcóllar (Sevilla) be declared a disaster zone due to the damage from the Niebla (Huelva) fire affecting livestock and beekeeping operations. Secretary General Verónica Romero has called for direct aid and urgent measures for impacted farmers and ranchers, citing losses of pastures, hives, enclosures, and facilities, as well as increased costs to maintain operations in the Sevilla municipality. The fire, which started on August 6 in Huelva, affected eleven municipalities across Huelva and Sevilla, burning approximately 33,000 hectares, according to UPA's press release. In Aznalcóllar, the local government has estimated around 6,000 hectares were impacted.
