The meeting addressed beekeeping activities across the province, efforts to enhance the sector, and the demands and expectations of beekeepers. Additionally, the geographical indication registration of Zonguldak Chestnut Honey, a significant local product, was discussed. This honey has been officially registered with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office under registration number 1889, receiving protection under the Industrial Property Law No. 6769. The registration process for Zonguldak Chestnut Honey was completed on August 21, 2026. Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu emphasized that the geographical indication for this unique honey is a significant achievement for Zonguldak and expressed gratitude to the Zonguldak Beekeepers Association and all individuals and institutions involved in the registration process.
