Ex-Istanbul driver discovers tranquility in beekeeping in the countryside.

Ismail Cinar, 67, left Istanbul's stress behind to embrace beekeeping in his village, quickly adapting to rural life through his bees. Originally from Kula in Kirklareli, he moved to Istanbul as a youth to live with his sister and worked various jobs for many years. After retiring from a 35-year career as a driver, Cinar returned to his village in 2022, starting with four beehives to ease into rural routines. He has since expanded to 30 hives, enjoying a tranquil life while caring for his bees. Ismail Cinar, donning a beekeeping veil, holds a honeycomb frame at his apiary in Kula, Kirklareli. (AA Photo)
