At just 18 years old, Agustín Mabres Valdez has transformed his passion for bees into a thriving business called “Las Melarias.” A student at CEI San Ignacio, an agricultural school in Neuquén, he discovered his interest in beekeeping with the support of a teacher. After receiving four beehives as a gift from his mentor, Agustín felt a strong commitment to make the most of this opportunity.

He set up his first hives at an apiary near Spring Creek, where he learned the intricacies of beekeeping while managing honey production at home. Later, he utilized the school's extraction facility to process honey for sale. This venture, which he continues to develop while completing his studies, reflects his dedication and the trust placed in him by his teacher.
