Moldova's beekeepers receive IFAD funding to increase production.

Moldovan beekeepers are increasing production and exploring export opportunities thanks to low-interest loans and development grants from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), as announced on Monday. Since 2011, these financing packages have helped local apiaries transition to high-value apiculture and commercial processing. From 2017 to 2024, 152 beekeeping businesses received support under the IFAD VII and VIII programmes, with women and young entrepreneurs making up 70% of the beneficiaries.
