Agricultural organizations APAG Extremadura Asaja, APAG Asaja Cáceres, UPA, and Cooperativas Agroalimentarias have called for immediate measures to address the severe challenges facing the beekeeping sector due to damage from the bee-eater and high hive mortality rates. During a meeting in Mérida with the Director of Agriculture and the Director of the CAP, they highlighted the current issues, noting that mortality in some areas reaches 100%, while in better cases, it is around 40%. This high mortality is primarily attributed to the bee-eater's interference with hive hydration.
