In Avcılar, during a building demolition for urban renewal, bees were discovered nesting in a wall cavity. The demolition revealed around 25 kilograms of honeycomb, and the bees were safely relocated to another hive.

The incident occurred in Ambarlı Mahallesi, following a 6.1 magnitude earthquake near Silivri on April 23, 2025, which damaged the building where Murat Buğday lived. As demolition began, the presence of bees was noticed in the wall, prompting Buğday to seek help from his neighbor, retired agricultural engineer and beekeeping trainer Musa Kocaman.

Using smoke to drive away the bees, Buğday and Kocaman distributed the honey they found to nearby residents. The relocated bees were placed in secure hives in a safe area.
