Louis, also known as Piwi, is a former sports coach who transitioned to beekeeping in the Basque Country, managing nearly 200 hives. After an injury during a coaching session, he chose to leave everything behind and travel across the Pacific. It was in New Zealand, where he discovered Manuka honey, that he found his passion for beekeeping, which he learned independently before starting his operation with about fifteen hives. At 25, he embraced this new path and now oversees hives not only in the Basque Country but also in the Landes and Béarn regions.
