Beekeepers urge government action to protect bee populations.

Beekeepers in Logan are successfully managing varroa mites that have devastated hives nationwide and are urging the government to provide educational support for more beekeepers. Ally Shepard from Norma May Honey and Steph Blum from Urban Bee Education, known as the Girls in Pink, are actively promoting beekeeping education. Ms. Shepard recently won first place for her full honeycomb frame at both the Ekka and Gold Coast Show, hoping her achievements will motivate others in the fight against the Varroa Mite crisis in Australia.
