Laikipia Beekeeper Expands from Five to 618 Hives for Export

Rosemary Mosiany, a beekeeper from Laikipia North, has expanded her initial five hives from 2018 to a thriving 618-hive operation, generating over Sh2 million in peak seasons and exporting honey to the US, Turkiye, and the UAE. Her journey, highlighted by BiznaKenya on September 15 and documented by UN Women in April 2026, showcases beekeeping as a viable climate-resilient practice in Kenya's arid regions, where traditional livestock farming has suffered due to recurring droughts.
