Published locally on September 15, 2026, bears have been causing trouble for beekeepers in the Bozkır district of Konya by destroying hives. Beekeeper Hüseyin Dumru shared the incident on social media, highlighting the damage in Dereköy neighborhood where bears entered his apiary and wrecked the hives.

Upon discovering the attack, Dumru expressed his frustration on social media, saying, “The bear has come again.” While inspecting the hives and frames, he hoped that the queen bee was still safe. Beekeepers are facing significant challenges due to the bears' destructive behavior.

Dumru's apiary has recently become a target for bears, and despite implementing security measures, the severe damage to the hives poses a major issue for local beekeepers.
