Asian wasps are significant predators of bees

Asian wasps are significant predators of bees. The invasive species continue to spread across Málaga province, raising concerns about their impact on bees, beekeeping, and honey production. Both the oriental wasp (Vespa orientalis) and the Asian wasp (Vespa velutina) threaten bee colonies, weakening them and reducing their productivity. This issue is not new; last year, local beekeepers reported substantial losses, with some colonies nearly wiped out.
