BUCHANAN, Va. (WDBJ) - The 5th annual Honey Festival in Buchanan celebrated honey and its benefits, attracting visitors from various locations. For the first time, six local beekeepers participated, emphasizing the event's focus on local contributions. The festival highlighted the importance of bees, from honey production to their role in holistic health. Sarah Melendy, President of the Botetourt Beekeepers Association, noted that while some fear bees due to their stings, honeybees are generally gentle and sociable.
