Beekeepers with up to 50 hives will be allowed to sell 90% of their honey directly, while those with more than 50 hives can sell 70%. This proposal is part of the changes being prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food to Regulation No. 26, as announced by Deputy Minister Krum Nedelkov to Agri.bg.

The discussion on liberalizing direct honey sales has been ongoing, particularly due to current quantity restrictions. However, a complete removal of these limits is not anticipated. Nedelkov stated that a working group meeting is forthcoming, where they will present their vision, noting that while the existing framework will not be entirely discarded, the allowable quantities will significantly increase based on the number of hives.
