Kalika Municipality Reports 106 Infected Beehives Due to Sugar Syrup Use

In Kalika Municipality, eastern Chitwan, 106 out of 166 beehives managed by Jang Bahadur Pun have been infected after feeding sugar syrup. Pun provided the syrup on the evening of October 12, using one bag of sugar distributed across four pots. Upon checking the hives the next morning, he discovered many dead bees, noting that the syrup feeding, typically done weekly, led to the current issue. He expressed concern over increasing pesticide risks.
