José Vicente Andreu, president of Asaja Alicante, highlights the growing issue of theft affecting local farmers, leading to significant financial losses each year. Recently, Andreu experienced two major thefts on his own farm. Farmers are increasingly targeted based on the market value of their products, which extends beyond just crops. In Andreu's case, thieves stole 400 kilograms of organic honey from his storage in Orihuela, along with winter feed valued at 1,000 euros. Last year, another beekeeper lost 200 hives filled with honey.
