BATESVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - Beekeepers in Independence County are collaborating to support their hives during challenging environmental conditions, particularly a late-season drought. A local beekeeping group convened at the Independence County Library on Wednesday to share best management practices as winter approaches. Insufficient rainfall has led to the drying of wild plants and blooming forage like clover, leaving honeybees with limited food sources and prompting them to deplete their winter honey reserves prematurely.
