ALMERE - Reports of the Asian hornet, also known as the yellow-legged hornet, are rapidly increasing in Almere. Experts had previously warned about the rise of this invasive species, which preys on honey bees and other insects, causing significant damage. People near a nest should exercise caution, as hornets can become aggressive. While a sting from an Asian hornet is not fatal, it can be quite painful.
