On September 29, 2026, a bear damaged the Zalarinsk Agricultural School building and destroyed its beehives in the Kachug district. The incident occurred around midnight when the school's watchman discovered a torn downspout and suspected intruders. He called the stoker, who quickly identified the culprit as a bear. According to the school director, Larisa Zavodskikh, the bear attempted to enter through a window and then moved to the school grounds where the beehives were located. The bear caused significant destruction, likely in search of honey, before being dealt with by the head of the territorial management, Mikhail Istomin.
