In the city of Karakol, Talghat and Talant Akmatov, twin brothers, have been running a family beekeeping business for 22 years, expanding their apiary to 450 hives. They were born on December 5, 1985, and have a younger brother. Talghat recalls their childhood resemblance, which often led to mix-ups at school, where he excelled in English while Talant was strong in history.

After finishing school, both brothers enrolled in a university in Karakol, with Talghat studying forestry engineering and Talant pursuing economics. Their similarity proved beneficial during their studies, allowing them to swap places for physical education classes and exams in subjects they were less familiar with.
