The government will extend support for beekeepers with a new funding competition of 3.3 million euros, expected to benefit around 4,400 recipients. Each beekeeper may receive 735 euros annually to uphold commitments under the biodiversity apiculture support program.

Without bees, many plants would struggle to reproduce, leading to poorer ecosystems. Supporting beekeepers thus protects more than just honey production. The new competition, part of the PEPAC Continente program, targets producers who had approved applications in the initial 2024 contest and whose commitments remain active. Applications for extension can be submitted from October 9 to November 9, 2026.
