In the Rudnya district of Smolensk region, the family apiary "MedOk" has been managed by Oksana Shendorova for over 15 years. The apiary maintains about 20 bee colonies.

The apiary is equipped with six horizontal hives and 24 twelve-frame Dadan hives. Solar and electric wax melters are used for wax processing. There are also two observation hives with transparent walls.

Alongside modern hive designs, traditional beekeeping elements such as borts and log hives are preserved. The hives are placed with protection against wind and moisture.

State support funds were directed to the apiary’s development: hives were purchased under a social contract, and grant funds were used to build an "Apidomic".
