An Asian hornet nest was found and neutralized on September 30 in the Parco dei Piani of Millesimo. Located about ten meters high on a pine tree within the park, experts from the Garfagnana Vespa Velutina Association secured the area and deactivated the colony. This operation allowed the park to quickly reopen for public use.

Although the nest remains visible on the tree, it no longer poses a threat due to the neutralization method used, which disables the colony inside the nest without removing or destroying it. After the intervention, the area was fully cleaned and temporary barriers were removed, restoring full access to the park.
