Year 6 Pupil Earns Junior Beekeeper Certificate

A Year 6 pupil from John’s Stonefold Primary School in Rising Bridge has become one of the youngest qualified beekeepers locally by passing the British Bee-Keepers Association Junior Certificate in Proficiency in Apiculture. This nationally recognised award honours safe and skilled beekeeping.

Olive Humphreys started working with the school’s hive last year through the Eco Council, gaining hands-on experience in environmental care. She has since focused on learning hive management, bee behaviour, and colony care responsibilities, earning her a qualification that distinguishes her among junior beekeepers nationwide.
