The city of Duhok celebrated the launch of the 19th Grape and Honey Festival with the participation of 80 farmers and beekeepers, amid record production and promising signs for the agricultural and tourism seasons.
Famous grape varieties such as Black, Kamali, Taifi, Rashmiri, and Zark dominate the festival's sections; the province cultivates over 100 types on more than 39,000 dunams, especially in the Mankish and Zawita areas.
Thanks to abundant spring rains, the beekeeping sector has seen a notable revival, with natural honey production rising from 100 tons last season to 300 tons this year, allowing visitors to taste honey from mountain herbs and flowers.
