Khenshela governor Selim Harizi confirmed ongoing in-kind compensation for 144 victims of forest fires across 16 municipalities, after initially assisting 24 victims with delivery of 1417 olive trees, beehives, and poultry, along with 1450 meters of irrigation channels, as part of state efforts to support farmers and breeders in restoring their activities.

Last summer, the province experienced 83 fire outbreaks in 17 municipalities, with 144 victims recorded in 16 municipalities. Necessary measures were taken to distribute in-kind compensation to affected farmers and breeders, following directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Interior Minister Said Sayoud to monitor compensation operations on the ground.
