The Beekeepers' Association of Halle raises alarm: An Asian hornet was sighted for the first time in Halle-Dölau. This large, reddish hornet species is not native here. Where it appears, native bee populations decline, threatening agriculture. The association requests assistance to prevent the spread of this invasive species. Sightings should be reported to the State Office for Environmental Protection. The reporting address is available at the LAU.
