Thanks to the support from Konya Metropolitan Municipality, the number of hives increased from 93,000 to 140,000 over the last 10 years. The municipality boosted interest in beekeeping through equipment grant programs.

Beekeepers received honey extraction machines, settling tanks, hives with pollen traps, milking tents, and solar panels, which enhance the production capacity of small-scale enterprises. Registered beekeeping businesses rose from 1,012 to over 1,700.

Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that support for rural producers will continue to grow and that Konya ranks among the provinces with the highest increase in hive and colony numbers.
