Beekeepers in Konya are expanding their production with equipment, training, and infrastructure support provided by the Metropolitan Municipality. One notable example is 27-year-old Onur Sapmaz from Fırınlı Neighborhood in Doğanhisar district, who increased his apiary from 300-400 hives to 1000 hives after receiving technological equipment from the municipality.

As a migratory beekeeper, Sapmaz received 20 hives with pollen traps, honey extraction tents, centrifugal honey extractors, and resting equipment from the Metropolitan Municipality. Previously using manually operated machines, the new technological equipment eased the production process and tripled his hive count.
