October 6, 2026, 11:27 Link copied Khaberni - The head of the Jordanian Beekeepers Association, Mohammed Al-Faqir Al-Ruba'a, called on the Ministry of Agriculture to take measures to protect local honey production, with estimates that the kingdom's honey production will exceed one thousand tons this year.

Al-Ruba'a stated in a letter addressed to Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khreisat, reviewed by Khaberni, that this year's honey season was exceptional, which may increase local production, noting that about 80% of honey consumption in Jordan comes from local production.

He warned that importing large quantities of honey during this period could flood the market, negatively affecting beekeepers and causing economic losses and difficulties in marketing their products.
