PrimaMedia, October 6. Kira Skripova, an expert from Rosprirodnadzor, stated at a press conference titled "Why bears approach humans and how the regulation system will change" that bear attacks on people should not be explained by the animals' desire to eat humans without official statistics. She explained that if bears wanted to attack humans, there would be dead beekeepers during attacks on apiaries, not just destroyed hives. Bears fear humans, and there must be a reason for an attack.
