The Asian hornet, though more intimidating than a wasp, does not always have a more toxic sting. An invention from the InTi group, based in Villemandeur in the Loiret, will be showcased on November 21 and 22 at the Élysée Palace. The company is among the hundred manufacturers selected for the sixth edition of the Great Made in France Exhibition, according to the ICI network.

They will present an electric harp designed to protect bees from Asian hornets. Installed in front of the hive, the device consists of wires connected to an electronic system. When a hornet touches one of the wires, it receives a shock that temporarily stuns it. Powered by small photovoltaic panels, the harp aims to trap these predators while sparing the bees.
