Over €359,000 from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) may be redirected to support Romania's beekeeping sector. This initiative aims to finance new strategic interventions and compensate local beekeepers for losses.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) has proposed reallocating more than €359,000 within the apiculture budget to purchase beekeeping equipment, queen bees, and bee colonies. This redistribution follows an assessment of funding needs based on requests verified by the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA).

MADR has published a draft order for public consultation that outlines the fund reallocation and sets unit payment amounts for apiculture interventions in 2026 under the 2023-2027 CAP Strategic Plan.
