Support for beekeepers, including the decline in bee colonies, is being systematically addressed at the legislative level. State Duma deputy Aleksey Tkachyov noted that the decline is caused not only by diseases but also by poisoning from chemicals used by farmers on fields. The year 2024 saw a record number of mass bee deaths from pesticides, with over 14,000 bee colonies lost, mostly in the Krasnodar region. The damage to beekeepers amounted to hundreds of millions of rubles.
