Following a resident's report on Wednesday, the Nature Protection Agents (APN) of Graus neutralized an Asian hornet (vespa velutina) nest located near one of the entrances to the Virgen de la Peña basilica in Graus. The local Police cordoned off the area, and the APN used their usual method of shooting insecticidal gel at the nest situated close to Fantón square.

The neutralized nest measured about 60 cm in height and 50 cm in width. Although larger nests exist, this one was notable due to its proximity to the urban area, where the hornets are active. The insecticide causes adult hornets to die within 4 to 5 hours, with the rest perishing from starvation over the following days.
