Volunteers in Moerdijk work daily to combat the Asian hornet. The season is at its peak, with many nests visited by new queens preparing for winter. Volunteers locate and remove these nests to limit the spread of this exotic wasp. During this period, hornets defend their nests more aggressively, especially low nests often found in hedges or sheds pose a significant risk. This behavior decreases from mid-November when most queens have flown out.
