Over 100 beekeepers from various provinces of Ecuador and specialists from Argentina, Colombia, and Ecuador gathered in Tungurahua for the Second International Apicultural Congress Apifest 2026. The event aimed to exchange knowledge, experiences, and consolidate strategic proposals to strengthen and sustain the national beekeeping sector. It was promoted by the Ministry of Productive Economic Development (MDEP) in coordination with the German Cooperation for Development (GIZ), the Provincial Government of Tungurahua, the Ambato Municipal Government, and the Flores y Mieles de Tungurahua Beekeeping Association.
