The city of Petrolina, located in the Sertão region of Pernambuco, offers a free service for the safe rescue of bees. This initiative is managed by the Municipal Environment Agency (AMMA) and becomes especially active during spring, when bee activity peaks. The program aims to protect residents and relocate bee colonies to appropriate sites.

People who find a swarm or hive are advised not to remove, touch, pour water on, or use products to repel the bees. It is also important to keep children and animals away and avoid sudden movements near the swarm. The "SOS Bee Rescue" service operates Monday through Friday, and residents can contact the team by calling (87) 99140-2455. After a call, technicians assess the situation and carry out the removal.
