In Rijswijk, nests of the Asian hornet were removed again on Tuesday, including a large nest on Sir Winston Churchilllaan. Later in the week, nests were also removed at Laan te Blotinghe and near the cycling club De Spartaan on Lange Kleiweg. The municipality removes nests mainly when they pose a public health risk, such as nests hanging low or in busy areas.

Alderman for Urban Management Marc Weterings calls the nuisance from the Asian hornet a relatively new problem. The municipality is currently developing policies on how to handle the hornet but takes every report seriously and removes nests that pose a danger.

Residents are asked to report nest locations, for example via the BuitenBeter app, so the municipality can respond quickly.
