On World Mental Health Day, patient and psychotherapist representatives highlighted excessively long waiting times and increasing mental health issues, especially among youth. They urged Health Minister Tadej Ostrc to promptly implement the psychotherapy law and ensure publicly accessible psychotherapy services. The joint statement by the Slovenian Association of Patient Organizations and Users of Health and Social Services (ZOPS), the Faculty of Theology at the University of Ljubljana, Sigmund Freud University Vienna – Ljubljana branch, and the Slovenian Association of Marital and Family Therapists emphasized that psychotherapy must be accessible based on individual needs, not financial means.
