On October 10, 2026, Orthodox believers and beekeepers celebrate the folk holiday Savvatiy Pchelnik, dedicated to the memory of Saint Savvatiy of Solovki, the protector of bees. According to the old calendar, the date falls on September 27. The saint lived in the late 14th century, took monastic vows at the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery, then retreated to the islands of Valaam and Solovki, where he founded a hermitage and spent the rest of his life. After his death, a monastery was established there in his honor.
