In the Sheksninsky district, bears devastated half of an elderly beekeeper's apiary in the Ugolsk territorial administration. According to the local newspaper «Zvezda», a family of bears regularly visits the 82-year-old beekeeper. The beekeeper was hospitalized not due to direct contact with the animals, but for nervous reasons.

A female bear with three cubs has come for honey more than once. Since mid-July, the bears have established trails to the apiaries in the village of Konshevo and continue to visit them for easy food. Over the past months, they destroyed 12 hives by knocking them down and tearing them apart. The bears consume not only honey but also combs and larvae, which provide valuable protein for them.
