Bee Swarm Removed from Utopia of the Seas Pool Deck in Port Canaveral

A bee swarm was found on the pool deck of Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas on Monday, October 12, 2026, while docked at Port Canaveral. The swarm was safely removed without delaying the ship’s departure on its 4-night Bahamas cruise.

Bees occasionally appear on cruise ships or at ports, but cruise lines typically remove swarms quickly. On this occasion, the swarm was located under a shade umbrella on Deck 15 near the waterslide exits. A person in beekeeping gear used a vacuum device to remove the bees, though it is unclear if they were crew or a contractor, as the ship was turning around at Port Canaveral.
