Honey production in Artvin dropped from about 700 tons last year to 300 tons this season due to rainfall and seasonal changes. Beekeepers Association President İbrahim Durmuş noted that despite the decrease in production, honey quality remains intact and proposed selling Artvin honey in pharmacies with prescriptions. The association set new season prices at 3,500 TRY per kilogram for chestnut honey, 2,900 TRY for flower honey, and 1,500 TRY for plateau honey.
