Over five thousand Asian hornet nests have been removed and more than six thousand operational interventions carried out across Liguria. The fight against the Asian hornet, which threatens beehives and local biodiversity, has reached a preliminary numerical assessment as the Region allocates fifty thousand euros to continue activities in 2026. The issue was raised in the regional council through a question by Federico Romeo of the PD party, who urged the administration to strengthen countermeasures by adopting innovative technologies and new tools, following initiatives already started by other regions. Romeo emphasized that protecting pollinators is strategic for agriculture and called for an updated overview of the insect's presence.
