The Bolkhov District Court of the Oryol region issued a ruling in a case of mass bee deaths. Farmers who treated rapeseed crops with toxic chemicals in violation of regulations were ordered to pay over 6 million rubles in compensation to two beekeepers, the court press service reported.

The incident occurred in June 2025 when beekeepers found mass mortality in their hives near rapeseed fields. A special commission documented the scale of the deaths and prepared official inspection reports. Samples were sent to the Belgorod testing laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZh".
