A large Asian hornet nest was accidentally found on the ceiling of a house in San Miguel del Camino, León. Authorities are now considering how to safely remove it to reduce risks to people and other species.

The discovery alarmed residents due to the nest's size and the known dangers of the Asian hornet, which threatens native bees and poses health risks, especially to those allergic to its stings. The nest had the typical pear shape of this species, which has become common in Spain in recent years.

Emergency services were notified, and plans are underway to remove the nest safely. People are advised not to approach or attempt removal themselves, as Asian hornets become aggressive when threatened.
