The President of the Turkish Beekeepers' Central Union (TAB), Ziya Şahin, stated that they want the market to be cleared of imitation products.
In a press conference, Şahin explained that Turkey, being a honey-producing country, ranks second in the world in beekeeping, and emphasized that protecting the efforts of beekeepers is everyone's responsibility.
Şahin stated, "We consider adding any substance to honey, altering its structure, or removing any component from its composition as 'fraud.' There are two types of fraud: imitation and adulteration. We aim for the honey produced by bees in nature and by beekeepers in the mountains to dominate the market, not imitation honey."
