Honey Harvesting Has Started in Bingöl

Harvest Season for Bingöl Honey

A traditional harvest festival was held for Bingöl honey under the leadership of Bingöl University. Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Çapak, Deputy Mayor Sait Kolak, President of the "Don't Underestimate Me" Project Erkan Gürkan, President of the Food Retailers Association Alp Önder Özpamukçu, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kadir Çintay, and President of the Bingöl Beekeepers Association Mehmet Ali Aba, along with a marketing director from a chain supermarket, examined the hives in the complex area while wearing masks and protective clothing. During the honey harvest, participants moved to tents and sequentially performed the "capping" process on the honeycombs. A total of 1,300 beekeepers registered with the beekeepers' association across Bingöl will begin harvesting from 174,000 hives.
